There have been a lot of stories in recent years about Justin Bieber’s evolution and deepening of faith in God.

And not just “God” in the Hollywood sense, but God the Father, and his only Son Jesus.  In fact, men’s magazine GQ of all places recently ran a huge story on Justin Bieber and Hillsong Church in New York.  It was actually a great article.  Sure, he still has his moments where he gets into trouble, but it appears the major arc of his life is towards God, hanging around guys like Judah Smith and Carl Lentz.

So it didn’t totally surprise me when I saw the headline:  “Justin Bieber Stops Manchester Concert to Preach the Goodness of God.”  He was there along with many other A-list headliners like Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Coldplay, to put on a benefit concert after the Manchester suicide bomber attack that killed 22 people.  So the moment was full of tension and emotion, and Bieber used that moment to point people to Jesus Christ.

I have an absolute newfound respect for this young man.

It was near the end of his performance when he turned from music to praising God.  Bieber preached to around 60,000 music-fans gathered at the “One Love Manchester” saying “God is good in the midst of the darkness”.  Good message Justin!

He continued, “I’m not gonna let go of hope, I’m not gonna let go of love, I’m not gonna let go of God. Put your hand up if you’re not gonna let go.  God is good in the midst of the darkness. God is good in the midst of evil. God is in the midst, no matter what is happening in the world, God is in the midst. And he loves you, and He’s here for you.”

Bieber continued with a message for all families affected by the tragic terror attack:  “I just want to take this moment to honor the people that were lost, or that were taken, we love you so much. To the families, we love you so much.”
Justin then had everyone put their hands up and say, “we honor you, and we love you.”

If you’re impressed by the young Justin Bieber, please SHARE SHARE SHARE to tell him he did a great job!  We need more of this!
