FROM TINY MISSION TO WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT William Joseph Seymour, son of Simon Seymour and Phillis Salabar (both former slaves), was born in Centerville, Louisiana, St. Mary’s Parish, on May 2, 1870. Simon Seymour served in the Northern Army of the United States not long after President
