Nearly 500 Leaders Are Reading The Entire Bible Aloud In Washington, D.C. Right Now. And Yes, President Trump Is One Of Them.. "America Reads the Bible,."

This is incredible.

I don’t care what side of the aisle you sit on. If you can watch nearly 500 of America’s most prominent leaders stand up in our nation’s capital and read the Word of God aloud, cover to cover, Genesis to Revelation, and not feel something stir inside you… I don’t know what to tell you.

But that’s exactly what’s happening right now.

It’s called “America Reads the Bible,” and it kicked off this weekend at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. with a red-carpet celebration that drew hundreds of leaders from government, entertainment, ministry, and media.

The event runs from April 18 through April 25, with readings going from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. That’s seven straight days of Scripture being read aloud, nonstop, in the heart of our nation’s capital.

And here’s the part that really gets me.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to read 2 Chronicles 7:11-22 from the Oval Office.

Let that sink in for a second. The President of the United States, reading Scripture from the Oval Office, as part of a nationally livestreamed event honoring God’s Word on America’s 250th anniversary.

If you know 2 Chronicles 7:14, you know exactly why that passage matters:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Pretty powerful, right?

And the President isn’t alone. Six cabinet-level officials are reading as well, including White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Six governors are on the schedule: Greg Abbott, Ron DeSantis, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and more. Twenty members of Congress are participating, including Senators Ted Cruz, Jim Banks, Joni Ernst, and James Lankford.

And it doesn’t stop with the politicians.

From the entertainment world, you’ve got Patricia Heaton (who had the honor of reading Genesis 1, the very first chapter), Candace Cameron Bure, Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo, and Dallas Jenkins, the creator of The Chosen.

From the faith world: Franklin Graham, Sammy Rodriguez, Nick Vujicic, Eric Metaxas, and Allie Beth Stuckey.

That’s a lineup, folks.

Here’s what Patricia Heaton said about opening the readings with Genesis 1:

“There’s a divine connection” between artistic creation and God’s creative power.

And Candace Cameron Bure shared that her prayer for the event is for “revival and repentance” across the nation. I think a lot of us share that prayer.

Event founder Bunni Pounds put it beautifully when she said the goal is to “call the American people back to daily Bible reading for the wellbeing of our country.”

Can I just say something here?

We live in a time when the Bible is mocked, faith is ridiculed, and anyone who takes Scripture seriously in public life is labeled an extremist. So when you see hundreds of leaders, from the President on down, standing up and saying “We’re going to read this Book out loud and we’re not ashamed of it,” that matters. That really, really matters.

The whole thing is being livestreamed free on Great American Pure Flix, so you can tune in from anywhere in the country. Genesis through Revelation. Seven days. Nearly 500 readers.

As Doug Deason, Chairman of Great American Media, said at the kickoff:

“We’re a Christian nation.”

Amen to that.

If this doesn’t encourage you, I don’t know what will. Share this with someone who needs to hear it today.
