I love comedy.

And I love comedians.

You might think comedians are just a bunch of goofballs, but they are actually some of the most intelligent people you will ever meet.

They have to be, to have such keen observational powers and then to translate that into a 60 or 90 minute stand-up act, that they memorize perfectly, down to the exact timing on each joke.

It is so impressive to me!

And my favorite comedian of all time, and funniest man alive in my opinion, is none other than Norm MacDonald.  The man could read the phone book and make the laugh!

So I was interested when I came across this video of Norm in a very serious interview – something you almost never see.

The two topics of the interview were identity politics and whether or not there is a God.

I was so pleasantly surprised to hear what he had to say on both!

On identity politics, Norm points out how absolutely foolish and silly he thinks it is for people to say they’re proud of being a certain race or color.

“When someone says how proud they are to be white, we all say that’s wrong.  So why do we think it’s so great when people are proud to be black?  It’s equally foolish.  It limits people.  It puts people in a box.  We need to stop it”

On God, Norm echoed Romans 1:20 which says:

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Norm said:

“You can’t really look around and come to the conclusion that no one made all of this.  And the atheists themselves prove which God they think exists, because every time they talk about how there is no God, they talk about how there is no Christian God.  Isn’t that interesting?  They never say there is no Muslim God, or Scientology God.  They don’t even bother with those.  But they spend a lot of time and effort talking about how there is no Christian God.”

Wow!  Such insight from Norm, I was blown away!
